just as she was getting over her latest ear infection {and hopefully her last seeing as her tubes are being placed next Wednesday}, she got hit with the most horrible GI bug that ever was. we couldn't keep anything down and at one point the pediatrician even mentioned the possible need to admit her to the hospital to give her IV fluids if things didn't turn the corner. she lost a little over one pound in a day, folks....it was really scary. thankfully, with the help of anti-nausea medicine and lots and LOTS of snuggles, she turned the corner and perked up the next day. not my favorite week of her wonderful little life.
i had to take overnight call in the hospital last night and came home to my two favorite people & blueberry pancakes. heaven! emma, especially after being cooped up all week is itching to be outside. she waits at the door and rings the bells that hang from the doorknob in anticiption. we played out back for a bit just before the rain came. emma was totally fascinated by the rain.....she and ryan danced in it for a few minutes and she squealed with pure baby joy! after some dry clothes and a yummy lunch, it was time for a nap.....and the same is now true for her mommy!
our friends, the weitzels, have three beautiful children who have outgrown a whole selection of awesome toys. they had us over this week to pick out a few things we thought emma would like. this little push car certainly fit the bill. emma is obsessed! she sits in the front seat and says "beep beep!!".
deja busted a hole in the screen door just recently after an overzealous run through it. emma was nice enough to show us how this makes for endless fun on her part.
...dancing in the rain...
mommy's "bay-ee" {belly}. emma is very interested in how big its getting. she likes to point at it and do the sign for "baby". i'm not sure if she really has any idea....but it's super cute nonetheless.
days like today were made for snuggling :) who am i kidding, EVERY day was made for snuggling at our house!
i hope you all have a wonderful weekend. i'm excited to have this week behind us.....we have another big one ahead. we have birthdays to celebrate, emma is getting tubes, and we'll find out if she'll be a big sister to a brother or sister. i've said it once and i'll say it again....never a dull moment around here :)
this week i am so grateful for my daughters health. that sounds wierd seeing as how she was so sick all week. but, in the grand scheme of things she is a healthy happy little girl and we thank our lucky stars for that blessing.
